Registration begins January 5
Type, edit and format text in a document. Practice copying and pasting, adding an image, saving and printing the document. Completion of Computer Fundamentals or previous experience is expected.

Basic PowerPoint 2016
Thursday, January 19 from 1:30-3:30 p.m.
Registration begins January 12
Design a slide show with formatted text, images and a design theme. Explore the various views and show settings. Completion of Basic Word 2016 or previous experience is expected.

Basic Excel 2016
Thursday, January 26 from 1:30-3:30 p.m.
Registration begins January 19
Create a workbook with formatted text, simple formulas and multiple sheets. Practice creating a chart and printing, too. Completion of Basic Word 2016 or previous experience is expected.

Introduction to Computers
Unravel the mystery of how a computer works, the difference between hardware and software and how files are stored. Practice using the mouse and keyboard, too. No previous computer experience needed.

Using the Mouse and Keyboard
The mouse and keyboard are your computer’s communication tools. Learn how to click, click and drag, double-click and scroll with the mouse. Practice typing and editing text, numbers and symbols with the keyboard. No previous computer experience needed.

Working with Windows
Explore the typical menus, toolbars and dialog boxes for Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 2010. Learn how to resize windows, open files and make selections from the toolbars. Experience using the mouse and keyboard is needed.

File Storage and Organization
Discover how to save and organize your computer files more efficiently. Learn how to rename files, move and copy files, create folders by subject and delete unwanted files. Experience using the mouse and keyboard is needed.

Dive into the World Wide Web with Internet Explorer! Learn how to find a website, navigate through web pages, evaluate web sites, and use the Search and Favorites tools. Completion of the Computer Fundamentals series (or previous experience) is expected. Registration begins 9/24; Call 805-6885.

Internet: Beyond the Basics

Practice using Google and evaluating search results. Learn some advanced search strategies and how to effectively interact with websites. Learn how to send, receive, reply, and forward email messages with a Yahoo training account. Practice opening and saving attachments, organizing messages into folders, and creating a contact list.
