National Book Blitz Month
Throughout January
Vote for your favorite title in a book showdown each week. Those who select the winning book will be entered into a weekly prize drawing.






TeenSpot Seventh Annual Black History Essay Contest 
Throughout January and February
The essay contest is open to all Charleston area students in grades 6-12. One winner will be chosen from middle and high school to receive a prize package. Entries must be submitted by February 28, and the winner will be notified March 13. Visit the Reference Desk for additional details.





TeenSpot Movie Monday Presents Central Intelligence
Monday, January 9 at 3:30 p.m.

Teens complete a ballot voting for their favorites of the last year in movies,
TV, books, etc. Teens can vote once a day and receive a treat. 
Votes will be tallied at the end of the month. Winners will be announced on October 5.







Hurd/St. Andrews Golden Ticket Giveaway
All Month Long
Celebrate Library Card Sign-Up Month with Hurd/ St Andrews Library. Show a staff member your library card and receive a golden ticket. At the end of the month, 5 golden ticket winners will receive cool prizes. One entry per day.

Game On! Reading Contest
Summer Reading for students entering grades 6-12
June 1 - July 31, 2016
This summer, read something - a book, magazine, newspaper, graphic novel, website ... anything ... and win some great prizes. Stop by any CCPL branch, fill out a Summer Reading entry form, and tell us what you've read. To make it even easier, use the link above to enter online starting June 1.
Once registered, you will automatically be entered in the weekly prize drawings.



Summer School Spirit (ages 12-17)
Throughout June

Join us as we celebrate the life and legacy of Cynthia Graham Hurd. Sisters and brothers of the late Cynthia Graham Hurd present books they have donated to those in attendance to carry on her dream of literacy. Books are first come first served. Refreshments provided.
